One of the advantages of self-publishing is that you get to update your book.
Book blurb not quite working out? You can change it.
You found a spelling mistake? You can fix it.
Your website changed address and you want to update that info in the Contact the Author Page? You can do it.
The cover is no different. You can change it anytime you wish to. In my case, I have been wanting to change the cover of one of my books for a while. As some of you may have noticed, the cover of Devils of Black and Gold is brand new. I even took the opportunity and used KDP’s Cover Creator. Neat little tool.
Now, here are some things you need to know about changing covers. Once you do it, your changes will go under revision, much like any other change you make to your book. However, once the change is accepted, your new cover won’t immediately appear.
You will be able to see the new cover in your Bookshelf, but you book’s Amazon page will still be using the old cover. Don’t panic if that happens. That’s just the way it goes. It’ll take around three days after the change for your cover to be updated on the Amazon page.
So yeah, if you feel your book cover isn’t working out, don’t be afraid of changing it. Experiment a little. It’s worth it.
